The non-ablative laser treatments using PhotoAcoustic energy are quick. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes. The Laser skin rejuvenation may cause a mild to moderate redness, which usually fades within an hour. Post treatment a sunscreen will be applied and we will advise you of post care.
How many treatments are needed?
You will notice improvement after your first treatment. Non ablative laser rejuvenation is a gradual process and usually takes 6-8 treatments spaced weekly to fortnightly depending on your skin’s condition.

Melanin gives our skin its colour and when melanin becomes abnormally concentrate or localised in one area it results in a Pigmented lesion. Some pigmentation is present at birth but most occur from exposure to UV, ageing or hormonal changes. Pigmentation removal depends on type, location and the cause of pigmentation.

How does it work?
Tribeam Q -Switched ND YAG produces a wavelength of light that is absorbed by pigmented lesions. The light vibrates and shatters the pigment, breaking the melanin into micro- particles and lightening the lesions. The pigmentation will then turn darker and slough off within a week or two.
What concerns can be treated?
Tribeam is used to treat Solar lentigos (age spots), freckles and other brown birthmarks such as cafe-au-lait spots. It can also treat Melasma a condition resulting from hormonal changes due to pregnancy or oral contraceptives.
What’s involved?
The PhotoAcoustic energy is a very fast, short pulse that feels similar to the slap of a thin rubber band. Treatment time varies depending on area treated. After the treatment the area will feel similar to a mild sunburn. Any redness or discomfort will subside within a day and the pigmentation will turn darker and slough off. Post treatment an antibacterial ointment will be applied and we will advise you of post care.
How many treatments are needed?
Depending on whether the pigmentation is epidermal (near the surface) or dermal (deeper) will determine the treatment plan. The Frequency and number of treatments will depend on your skin type, the area affected and the size of the area.
For epidermal pigmentation lesions 2-3 treatments, 2-3 weeks apart.
